For the time being my plan is to keep this blog anonymous, so those of you looking for a name and a face will be disappointed.
But, as a compromise I will tell you a little about myself. I am a young professional who has a graduate degree in chemical engineering. Almost my entire life has been spent living in Phoenix Arizona, which I think is a solid place to live (once you get used to the 115+ degree summers). Some of my hobbies include running, reading, board games, hiking, and spending time with family and friends when I can. I never was a fan of writing back when I was in school, but blogging caught my recently so I am trying my hand at it.
Now that you know a little more about me, the more important question is: what is this blog about?
As you may have read on the homepage, my purpose in writing this blog is to provide readers with fresh perspectives. We all have our own way of viewing the world around us, but taking time to step outside of that and considering new perspectives is worthwhile. Doing so can open new doors and opportunities. It can be freeing. It can be reassuring. It can help us to find solutions problems we have been stuck on. Fresh perspectives can help individuals understand what makes them happy / unhappy.
The content of this blog will consist of me explaining different perspectives on various aspects of life (finances, learning, life design, psychological and scientific principles, etc.). Most perspectives will be those of others, while a few will be mine own. None of the content will be written in an ‘inspirational’ or ‘motivational’ way. There are plenty of blogs on those topics and this is not another one of those. My hope is to make this blog more matter of fact here-is-a-way-you-can-approach-this-aspect-of-life kind of blog rather than a blog centered around feelings and inspiration – though I imagine some of you will be inspired to approach or think of certain aspects of life in new ways after reading this blog.
In addition, the blog will have pages for: people related to the blog; reading related to the blog, and miscellaneous resources related to the blog. These pages will provide readers with various places they can go to learn more on subjects mentioned in the blog.
Okay, that is the essence of what this blog will be about. A good place to start is at the beginning of the blog (post link here) as it gives a sample of my writing and covers the blog’s purpose.
